From Windows to Zorin Os (Linux)

A few months ago, I had challenges with my #windows 10 PC. This was mainly due to the frequent updates that sometimes would stop half way or take long hence delaying most of my work. Another issue was that my older PC became draggy due to the size of OS.

Through research and a recommendation from a friend, I realized I needed a cheaper, lighter and simple OS that would enable me work easily. Among the few options, a Linux distribution, would be the ideal one although I earlier never liked it because of its appearance and looking different from #windows. During the course of the year, I remembered a video of  by Christopher Barnat on a YouTube channel called Explaining Computers talking about this window like Linux Destro called Zorin Os. This was a game changer.

I found this Zorin Os so light and easy to use especially for those with old PCs and moving from windows to Linux.  I have since installed it on the my old PC and it gives me a similar feel to windows although disclaimer; most windows software may not work properly but there are a tone of existing software alternatives that can do a similar job compared to the Windows heavy weights. In next blog, I will share some of the alternative apps I use on daily.
