Maximizing the Evernote free plan

So Evernote recently made adjustments to their plans, bringing new rates of $7.99, $9.99 and $14.99.
At a glance everyone has where they fit, even though the prices seem a bit high. Personally I have been a user of the free plan since 2010, and  believe those who can't afford the new rates can maximize this to do more.
So basically the free plans offers a 60MB monthly upload, 25MB maximum note size and a sync for 2 devices.
The free plan still gets the job done allowing users to take notes and organise them in notebooks. However to get all the benefits of the this plan, there is need to make adjustments to useability for it to feel comfortable.
1. Limit attachments
As mentioned in the plan, there is a limit of 60MB upload, so there is need to upload only small sizes docs. This will help you ensure that more is uploaded within this plan. There are different tools one can use to resize documents, pdfs and photos.

2. Take more notes and lessen on attachments
Like earlier mentioned, the space limit maybe a limitation to some people depending on work done. I would suggest that those using the free plan use this tool for mainly taking notes. This will maximize your output without feeling the limit as an issue.

3.Use other tools to support the gaps
I personally use Google calendar as my calendar app of choice to plan my days and assignments. This helps me to supplement my free plan irespective of the inability to sync the calendar into this plan. So it's ideally important if needed to use other tools to feel in the gaps of those things you can't do with the free plan.

4. Stick to one device
One of the coolest things about Evernote is the ability to sync across devices, however the free plan limits this to two devices. So basically the best way to go about this is stick to one device. For example after changing phones I realized I needed to either upgrade or disconnect some devices inorder to use Evernote services across and stick in my lane. To avoid this confusion, it's better to sign into one device.

5. Assign specific roles for Evernote.
I personally use a number of tools to do different things, so am not limited to using Evernote for everything. For example, I use Evernote as my daily note taking app and other tools for other roles like task management e.t.c. This has helped me become more productive and efficient.

On final thought, there are many benefits to Evernote and whichever plan you choose there many benefits for your productivity.
